Who can apply for a credit card on behalf of the business?

In order to apply for a business credit card, you are required to be an “authorized officer” of a business, which means you can legally enter into contracts with financial institutions on behalf of the business. Within an organization, an "authorized officer" is typically the:

  • Partner
  • Vice President
  • Treasurer

What do I need to apply for a business credit card?

To apply for a business credit card, you, as the business owner, need to provide several key details, typically including:

  • Legal structure of your business
  • Business industry
  • Legal business name
  • Business name (as you want it to appear on the card)
  • Employer Identification Number (EIN), or the primary owner's Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) if a single-member LLC or trust

When will I receive my business credit card in the mail?

After you submit your application, the card issuer will review it. You may receive an approval decision within a few minutes or a few days. If approved, your business credit card will arrive by mail within approximately 7 to 14 business days.


How many cards is my business allowed?

Depending on your company's size and needs, it's often beneficial to provide employee credit cards. These cards authorize employees to make company-related purchases, such as office supplies or travel expenses, within approved limits. You can typically obtain as many employee cards as necessary to meet your business requirements.

Each employee will have a unique credit card account number and separate spend limit as designated by an authorized officer or representative.


Are there any additional requirements for issuing cards to individual employees?

The only requirements are the employee's name, Social Security number (SSN) and birthdate. These details are provided at the time of application or can be added later by the authorized signer by contacting Elan to request the cards.


How do I track my rewards earnings?

Accounts enrolled in the rewards program can view the Rewards Center by selecting the Rewards Link on myaccountaccess.com or through the Elan credit card mobile app.

Those enrolled in the rewards program are able to:

  • View the entire rewards website and learn about special points offers.
  • View point balances in real time.
  • Purchase or transfer points.
  • Redeem points for valuable rewards which will vary depending upon the type of rewards card you have. Some rewards options include merchandise, gift cards, travel and cash back.

How do I report a lost or stolen card?

If your business credit card is lost or stolen, it's important to act quickly. Call 1-866-552-8855 for immediate assistance. You'll be guided through the steps to report the issue, protect your account and arrange for a replacement card.
