OGDEN, Dec. 4, 2024 — Embracing the holiday spirit, Bank of Utah became the first business to complete the 777 Challenge during the launch of Ogden’s “Light the World” Giving Machine event. By purchasing one of every item available — using the code “777” — Bank of Utah donated $1,156 to support those in need during this meaningful time of year. The Bank hopes to inspire other businesses to take on the challenge and make a difference in their communities.

Bank of Utah, represented by President Branden Hansen, embraced the true spirit of the holidays by purchasing one of each of the charity items from Ogden’s Giving Machine to support those in need.

A set of three Giving Machines is currently located in the Ogden Amphitheater, at the heart of Christmas Village, and offers visitors the chance to purchase life-changing items — ranging from hygiene kits and meals to school supplies and even livestock — for people in need. Bank of Utah’s contribution supports local charities, including Catholic Community Services, YCC Family Crisis Center, Midtown Community Health, Ogden School Foundation and Weber School Foundation, as well as global organizations.

“This initiative is a wonderful reminder of the power of giving, and we’re thrilled to help kick it off in such a special way,” said Bank of Utah President Branden P Hansen.

These particular Giving Machines will remain in Ogden through Dec. 15, 2024, before heading to Logan, where they will be available from Dec. 16, 2024 through Jan. 1, 2025. They were previously in St. George during November. In addition to the traveling machines, Utah also hosts Giving Machines in Salt Lake City and Orem, offering additional opportunities to give.

Sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, these machines make it easy to contribute to meaningful causes. Community members are encouraged to stop by, make a purchase and join in this effort. For those unable to visit in person, donations can also be made online at lighttheworld.org/give, with 100 percent of proceeds going to participating charities.

Together, we can bring light to the world — one act of generosity at a time.
