In my work for Bank of Utah, I have the opportunity to serve on several community boards and hear the stories of Utah’s struggling families and their needs. There are many laudable organizations in our cities throughout the state that provide temporary shelter, housing, food, clothing, healthcare, mental health services training and much more -- to get people back on their feet and living more independently.

It has been my honor to volunteer directly for some of these organizations and to support efforts to raise funds and collect donations to help those in need. That spirit of volunteerism and community is at the center of Bank of Utah’s DNA. We encourage all of our employees to be involved in providing service to each of the communities in which we are located. And, I’m happy to report that our people donated 986 service hours in 2015, and thus far have donated 132 service hours in the first quarter of 2016.

I’d like to tell you about an effort that Bank of Utah is currently coordinating. Catholic Community Services (CCS) of Northern Utah and other service organizations across Utah, have reported that there are many families who are unable to provide the basic needs for their infants.

That’s why, May 30 – Jun 17, the bank is collecting donations of cash, diapers, car seats and other baby items for local family support organizations including CCS. We encourage our customers, friends, businesses, churches and community groups, to join bank employees in supporting our Shower Them with Love project.
